Unfortunately, if you live in a climate where it snows you may be faced with some salt on your roads or sidewalks. Although winter is beautiful, and we have a blast, the use of salt can be harsh on your wood floors. Causing you to have to replace your beautiful floors. Now Plumbtile has some great flooring such as our Wow – Briques Handmade Floor.  But if you can save them first you might want to try some of our tips.

So how do you clean up all of that salt on your floors? Well there are solutions and products you can purchase from the store such as Salt-Away salt spray or Castle Salt Magic. If you are concerned about using products such as those you can also safely remove the stains without the use of harsh chemicals by mixing vinegar in a gallon of warm water.

First what you will want to do is vacuum all the salt that has been brought in from your feet. Once you have removed all of the salt you will then want to put the solution into a spray bottle and let it sit there for a few minutes. Make sure you just dampen the area and not soak it. Soaking it can warp the floor as well. After the solution has set for a few minutes you will want to mop up the solution being sure that you have removed all of the salt dust and mixture. If you make sure to do this on a regular basis you can prevent damaging your floors and having to replace them.

Don’t forget if they do need replacing to visit Plumbtile for all of your flooring needs. We have the best selections and offer a price match guarantee.
